2024-Nov-23 - Angular Momentum

This week's randomly selected song Angular Momentum is track #2 from disc #2 of my triple CD album It Was All Just a Dream.
Angular Momentum was first released on my 2017 album Juxtaposition. After I received my Solar S2.6 guitar in 2020, I decided to re-record all of the guitar parts of the song using this new instrument. This would be the first redux of a song from Juxtaposition that would eventually result in my 2022 album Juxtaposition Reimagined. For the final version of Angular Momentum, I also re-recorded the bass, added new drums, and gave the song a fresh new mix.
In simple terms, “angular momentum” measures an object's tendency to continue to spin. I hear this term fairly frequently at my job working at an astronomical observatory, and both the term itself and the concept it represents inspired this song. While the riffs and melodies may not sound like they are spinning, per se, I did try to imbue them with a feeling of momentum and motion.

All of the guitar parts on Angular Momentum were played on my Solar S2.6. The rhythm parts were played through my Mesa Boogie Mark V:25 with the IIC+ voice. And the lead parts were all played through my Synergy Amps Soldano SLO preamp.
You can listen to this song as well as the entire 44 song collection right here on the website! If you love what you hear and want to support the music I make, please consider purchasing this album on CD or digital download. I will gladly personalize and autograph your copy.
