Joyride To Jupiter is track #12 from disc #2 of my triple CD release It Was All Just a Dream.
Joyride To Jupiter was first released on my 2017 album Juxtaposition and again in 2022 on Juxtaposition Reimagined. I re-recorded all of the guitar and bass parts for 2022's Juxtaposition Reimagined, and for It Was All Just a Dream the song features new drums and a brand new punchy mix.
Joyride To Jupiter is a southern rock flavored nod to the likes of ZZ Top and Molly Hatchet. But being that this is a song about cruising down the space highway, it felt only right to quote the best cruising song ever written: Jeff Beck’s Freeway Jam.
This song features just two guitars: my TigerLuv Guitars Kraken prototype and my Gibson Les Paul standard. I played all the lead lines on the Kraken, and the rhythm parts are a combo of both guitars. All parts were played through my Mesa Boogie Mark V:25 using the IIC+ voice.
